Fred Philpott
Fred read law at King’s College, London and was called (Gray’s Inn) in 1974. He was Head of Chambers until January 2006.
Fred specialises in consumer and regulatory law, with a particular emphasis on consumer credit. He regularly advises and acts for major financial institutions, including the clearing banks, and a wide variety of other lenders on consumer credit issues, from drafting of agreements to advising for the purpose of securitisation and acting on licensing issues. He also acts, primarily for businesses, across the full range of trading standards and environmental health matters. Fred also has expertise in general sale of goods matters and has recently acted in a number of VAT cases involving this area of law.
